1. MEET WITH YOUR DOCTOR

LOCATE A DOCTOR

Meet with a doctor that is registered with the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program.
Discuss your health concerns with your doctor.
If your doctor recommends Medical Marijuana for you, he will submit a patient certification to the state.

2. REGISTER WITH THE STATE

Once your doctor certifies you as a patient, the state will send you an email containing a 4 digit pin and instructions on how to register with the state.
With this 4 digit pin you will also need a photo id, photo of yourself (passport type photo is ideal) and state registration fee (if applicable) or low income documents to request a waiver for the fee.
You will then create an account with the Virtual Gateway and finish setting up a patient account.

Bring your temporary paper Program ID Card and photo id to the dispensary, you will receive your plastic card in 1-3 weeks.
